Come join the opening of our month-long Indonesian Independence Day celebration called The Island Country. Come to the Parade Nusantara wearing your traditional Indonesian regalias, ride your sepeda hias (decorated bikes), or sign up for a karaoke contest! The parade will start in front of the Pendawa Store, and to Gapura community center on Broad Street! This event is FREE and open to the public.

Authentic Indonesian Cuisine will be available for purchase. This event will be outdoor and indoor.

Yuk, kita ramaikan perayaan hari Kemerdekaan kita dengan mengikuti lomba-lomba yang ada. Join us in one of our fun-filled sessions of Folk Games and Contests! We have various activities for all ages! The best part? There are prizes to win as well! Events are scattered throughout August 3rd-11th, you don’t want to miss it!

Gapura Games is an engaging day of folk games in a month-long celebration of Indonesian Independence. The event is FREE and open to the public. There will be games for all ages and prizes for winning participants. Winners will pick up their prizes at “The Island Country - Philadelphia Indonesian Festival” on Saturday, August 31 at 1 PM, at Fleisher Art Memorial - 719 Catharine Street.

3 PM at Philadelphia City Hall

Gapura is proud to announce the Indonesian community Flag Raising Ceremony on Friday, August 16th at 3 PM at Philadelphia City Hall. Come one, come all to fly our red & white and represent the Indonesian community, which has played an ever-growing role in the cultural fabric of Philadelphia. The ceremony will be attended by the Indonesian Consulate General of New York, city officials, and community leaders, and complemented by cultural performances.

Delight in an evening of authentic Indonesian culture at Daun (/dah-OON/) Fashion & Feast. Start the evening walking the red carpet during cocktail hour while immersing yourself in traditional music and dance. You will then be escorted to the sanctuary to feast on one-of-a-kind designs by talented Indonesian artpreneurs and enjoy delectable Nusantara cuisine.

11 am - 4:30 pm

Immerse yourself in Indonesian culture at “The Island Country”, Philadelphia's 2024 Indonesian Festival by Gapura. The outdoor event will feature local artists, authentic dishes, folk games, and prizes! The event will go from 11 AM to 5 PM. Public and street parking will be available, or you can take our complimentary shuttle service by the hour from Pendawa Cafe at 16th and Morris.

This year, the festival will be filled with amazing talents from Philly and across the East Coast!! Come to experience our culture through food, folk games, music, dance, prizes, and making new friends! We are excited for you to join us!
