Who we are

Pemuda Gapura (translated to Gapura Youth) is a safe space for Indonesian / Indonesian adjacent youth living in Philadelphia. As Indonesian-American youth who grew up here, we realized there isn't a space where we could come together without any barriers. We know of each other through religious institutions, cultural events, and school, but outside of that there isn't a space by us, for us. We want to create community while having a space for our community to grow.

Valentine’s Day Cultural Dining Experience

Valentine's Day Dining Experience is an intimate, cultural experience that combines dinner and a show for a perfect night out while also contributing to a great cause. Enjoy a delectable 3 course Indonesian meal while watching captivating Indonesian dance performances along with some tunes from our very own Gamelan Gita Santi. Included in your experience is a polaroid and love letter keepsake so you can remember this night forever. This is fundraiser for our youth from Gamelan Gita Santi to learn gamelan & dance in Bali, Indonesia. This trip serves not only as an educational opportunity but as a cultural bridge for the youth who want to build that relationship. With your support, we can send our dedicated learners to embrace their heritage and ancestry.
